Adults for whom vaccination is appropriate after individual assessment, taking account of age and previous exposure

Three doses for anyone starting the course at 15 years or older, which means all adults.

Discussed individually. The benefit is greater the earlier in life the course is given.

For most people within its licensed age range, the Indian quadrivalent vaccine gives the great majority of the available benefit at a fraction of the cost. The nine-valent vaccine covers five further HPV types and is the better product on paper; whether that difference justifies the price is a decision we make with you rather than for you.

After this vaccine

A sore or swollen arm and a headache are the usual reactions.
Teenagers and young adults are the most likely to feel faint just after an injection. Sit for at least 15 minutes after each dose before you leave.
A reaction to one dose is not a reason to stop the course. Tell us about it at the next dose.

What we will not gloss over

Not recommended during pregnancy.
Tell us about yeast allergy, which is relevant to some products.
Vaccination does not replace cervical screening. Continue screening as advised regardless of vaccination status.
Licensed age ranges differ between products and, for some products, between men and women. This is checked before we order anything for you.
